learning with country
The Learning With Country videos were developed in partnership with the Department for Education, Children and Young People and the Tasmanian Aboriginal community.
Through voice collection and elevating the community's voice, the Connected Beginnings Lutruwita team recognised that families would benefit from a resource within Lutruwita that could showcase activities to support parents and caregivers in their child's developmental journey.
The videos have been strategically aligned with the Kinder Development Check (KDC) data and the Tasmanian Child and Health Wellbeing Strategy to support parents and caregivers in implementing activities to help improve their child's developmental journey.
Connected Beginnings Lutruwita acknowledges the significance of early childhood development and its long-term impact on each child's health and learning journey. These Learning With Country videos highlight everyday activities on Country that allow parents and caregivers to incorporate simple activities into their daily lives to support their children's physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and language development.
By uniting community-driven efforts, we collectively aim to create transformational changes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, and the broader community.
